Job summary

Avis Budget Group International is seeking an experienced automotive technician to service a diverse fleet of cargo vans and box trucks in Farmingdale, NY. You will perform mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, diagnostics and warranty work with minimal supervision to keep vehicles safe and on the road.

This on-site role may include mobile repairs, and you may be required to drive Budget Trucks on public roads. On-the-job training and opportunities toward ASE certifications are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with ability to obtain 2 more within the first year.
• Working knowledge across ASE areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
• Must have complete set of tools for automotive and diesel repair.
• Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks with minimal supervision.
• Include preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related repairs.
• Role includes mobile repair responsibilities, traveling to vehicle locations to diagnose and resolve issues, and possibly driving Budget Trucks on public roads.
• Work on newer vehicles across multiple manufacturers to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
