Job summary

Excel Fitness is seeking an experienced Club Operations Manager to support the General Manager in planning and executing member growth strategies, staff development, and daily club operations. You will lead hiring, training, and certification tracking while ensuring a high standard of service and a positive culture.

You will supervise up to 20 Team Players, manage schedules and payroll items, coordinate marketing efforts, and maintain inventory.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/AED certification required; training offered within first 30 days of employment.
• Proven ability to lead, encourage, develop, and supervise the work of others.
• Familiar with Excel mission, values, vision, and culture, plus Planet Fitness brand.
• Demonstrated leadership to manage a team.
• Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Team oriented, motivated, and well organized.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Assist GM in strategies to attract and retain members while upholding Excel Core Values.
• Lead hiring process from candidate selection through onboarding documentation.
• Train and develop new team members.
• Ensure Team Players stay certified and up to date with training requirements.
• Counsel and discipline staff; supervise, motivate, and coach for peak performance.
• Monitor KPI goals and metrics for the club.
• Keep the facility clean and provide world-class member service; perform inspections.
• Enter work orders in the CMMS to ensure serviceability of facilities/equipment.
• Audit daily paperwork; resolve member issues and enforce standards.
• Manage club inventory and communicate orders with GM and HQ.
• Assist GM and back office with marketing and promotions.
• Create/verify club schedule and payroll items; manage commissions if applicable.
• Enforce policies; report major infractions to GM/HR for action planning.
• Audit inventory and provide recommendations for orders.
• Assist with Team Player Assessments and competency evaluations.
• Remain available off-shift for emergencies and operational questions.
• On-call during peak seasons or sale expirations when needed.
• Oversee club operations when GM is unavailable; represent company at events.
• Lead regular team meetings.
