Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Sprinkler Service Technician to respond to service calls, diagnose issues, and repair sprinkler and fire suppression systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites.

You will work in a field service team, prioritize safety, document work, and support on-call rotations. This role requires physical stamina, travel as needed, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of physical labor up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to work in ladders, scaffolding, up to 40 feet and in ducts/crawl spaces.
• Flexible hours including weekends; on-call rotation; overnight travel.
• Pass pre-employment background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and review the reported equipment or system malfunction.
• Contact the customer representative to understand the problem and confirm site details.
• Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
• Read manuals and submittals to diagnose and repair equipment using change notices and bulletins.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and system information to support repairs.
• Communicate with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with accurate coding and customer signature.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and support customer needs as required.
• Maintain truck inventory and tools to ensure timely response.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
