Job summary

Midwest Sprinkler, an S.A. Comunale Company, seeks a Fire Sprinkler Layout Technician Trainee to learn drafting sprinkler designs under NFPA and industry standards. You will work with Design staff to create drawings, estimate design hours, and ensure compliance with budgets.

You will develop skills in AutoCAD and AutoSPRINK, learn project coordination with trades, and grow toward independent design responsibilities while upholding safety practices and company objectives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AutoCAD experience required.
• Engineering background is a plus.
• Knowledge of Hydratec or AutoSPRINK is a plus.
• NICET Certification is a plus.
• Ability to travel to job sites by plane or vehicle.
• Ability to conduct field surveys to obtain proper dimensions.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Learn to complete sprinkler drawings as per NFPA standards.
• Learn to identify building construction type and hazards.
• Coordinate with other trades on complex projects.
• Learn to estimate and schedule design hours for a project.
• Develop drawings, hydraulic calculations, material submittals.
• Follow company safety practices and project paperwork.
