S.A. Comunale Co., Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Designer to support the Senior Service Designer and Service Manager by drafting sprinkler designs in NFPA standards and coordinating with trades. The role emphasizes AutoCAD proficiency, accuracy in drawings, and preparation of submittals for diverse market sectors.

The candidate will work within NFPA guidelines, assist in project budgeting, and communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure on-time, quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of experience in Fire Protection design is required.
• Engineering background is a plus.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Hydratec CAD, and stock listing programs is required.
• NICET Certification is a plus.
• Demonstration of a positive attitude is required.
• Ability to think strategically and produce timely results is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete sprinkler drawings per NFPA standards.
• Identify building construction type per NFPA.
• Identify hazards and appropriate protection.
• Coordinate work with other trades on non-complex projects.
• Operate AutoCAD and current AutoCAD tools.
• Coordinate pipe drawing, heads, hangers and components.
• Conduct field surveys to obtain dimensions and information.
• Meet industry quality standards in drawings and hydraulic calculations.
• Prepare complete material submittals meeting industry standards.
• Order materials to complete projects.
• Provide clear status reports to the Service Manager.
