Job summary

S.A. Comunale Co. is seeking a Fire Protection designer to draft sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards, create accurate drawings, and coordinate with multiple trades. This role requires 2+ years in Fire Protection design and strong AutoCAD skills.

You will work under the Senior Service Designer and Service Manager, contributing to project success with precise material takeoffs, submittals, and coordination while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of experience in Fire Protection design is required.
• Engineering background is a plus.
• Some mechanical aptitude is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Hydratec CAD, and stock listing programs is required.
• NICET Certification is a plus.
• Demonstration of a positive attitude is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete sprinkler drawings as per NFPA standards.
• Identify building construction types per NFPA standards.
• Identify hazards and appropriate protection.
• Coordinate work with other trades on non-complex projects.
• Understand and resolve coordination problems.
• Design projects and select materials for installation.
• Operate AutoCAD and current AutoCAD tools.
• Lead projects and report status to Service Manager.
• Communicate with customers in meetings, providing thorough information.
