Job summary

Midwest Sprinkler, an S.A. Comunale Company, is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Layout Technician Trainee to learn and practice all skills needed to support design staff and serve customers while adhering to NFPA expectations.

You will draft sprinkler layouts, identify construction types and hazards, coordinate with trades, and estimate design hours. Training will cover AutoCAD and AutoSPRINK, Navisworks, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Engineering background is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude is required.
• AutoCAD experience is required.
• Knowledge of Hydratec or AutoSPRINK is a plus.
• NICET Certification is a plus.
• Ability to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Learn to complete a sprinkler drawing per NFPA standards.
• Learn to identify building construction type and hazard to protect.
• Learn to coordinate work with other trades on complex projects.
• Learn to estimate and schedule design hours for a project.
• Learn to design and select materials for installation.
• Learn to operate AutoCAD and AutoSPRINK, run NavisWorks, and develop clash reports.
• Coordinate pipe drawings, heads, hangers, and sprinkler components for design and field work.
