Midwest Sprinkler, an S.A. Comunale Company, is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Layout Technician Trainee. The role focuses on learning and practicing sprinkler design, drafting, and coordination under NFPA and industry standards.

You will work with experienced staff to deliver accurate drawings and support project success from our Louisville, KY area. As you progress, you will gain hands-on experience in AutoCAD or AutoSPRINK, project budgeting, and cross-trade coordination, while aiming for NICET

Qualifications

• General understanding of sprinkler design and NFPA standards.
• Willingness to learn AutoCAD/AutoSPRINK drafting and project coordination.
• Interest in pursuing NICET certification and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Learn to complete sprinkler drawings per NFPA standards.
• Identify building construction type and hazards to select protections.
• Coordinate with other trades on complex projects and track design hours.
• Develop project paperwork and submittals.
• Prepare clash reports using Navis Works or similar tools.
• Assist in estimating design hours and material quantities.
