Job summary

Stantec is seeking Fire Protection Engineers to join our North America team. You will design fire protection systems, perform calculations, and prepare detailed design documents using CAD/BIM tools.

You will work under supervision on projects, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and support construction activities through submittals and site inspections. A PE license or progress toward it is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or closely related field.
• 4+ years of related work experience or equivalent.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) or actively pursuing licensure.
• Knowledge of building and NFPA codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection engineering to design fire suppression, detection and smoke control systems.
• Perform calculations using standard software and manufacturer tools.
• Gather information to support design decisions.
• Prepare designs, drawings, specs, and reports with guidance from senior engineers.
• Verify compliance with codes and standards.
• Collaborate with other design professionals in project delivery.
• Provide construction support including submittal reviews and RFI responses.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by senior staff.
