Job summary
Stantec is seeking Fire Protection Engineers to join our North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will design fire protection systems for buildings, perform calculations, and coordinate with architects and engineers to ensure life-safety and code compliance.
We require a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering, 4+ years of related experience, and a P.E. license or active pursuit of licensure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline with coursework.
- 4+ years of related work experience.
- Registered P.E. or pursuing Fire Protection P.E. licensure.
- Knowledge of building and NFPA codes; experience with fire protection systems.
Responsibilities
- Apply fire protection design concepts across sprinklers, detection, smoke control and egress.
- Perform calculations using standard and manufacturer software.
- Prepare design documents, drawings, and specifications under supervision.
- Coordinate with architects and engineers and participate in project teams.
- Support construction with submittals, RFIs and inspections.
- Assist senior staff with diverse engineering tasks.
