Job summary

Stantec is seeking Fire Protection Engineers to join its North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will design fire protection systems, perform analyses, and document designs using CAD/BIM tools under supervision.

The role requires a BS in Fire Protection Engineering, PE licensure (or progress), and strong knowledge of NFPA codes and fire protection systems. Multiple U.S. locations and emphasis on collaboration with clients and engineers are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or related field with emphasis in Fire Protection Engineering.
• Four or more years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) or actively pursuing licensure in Fire Protection Engineering.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection systems required.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection engineering concepts to design, analyze, and specify fire suppression, detection, and smoke control systems.
• Perform calculations and prepare design drawings, specifications, and reports with guidance from senior engineers.
• Verify compliance with codes and standards on projects and coordinate with design professionals.
• Support construction activities, reviews, and field inspections as required.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver projects on schedule.
