Job summary

Stantec is seeking Fire Protection Engineers to join our growing North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will plan, design and document fire protection systems, perform calculations, and support construction through commissioning and submittals.

Located in Stamford CT, Atlanta GA, Orlando FL, with opportunities across the United States; travel is required. A BS in Fire Protection Engineering and PE licensure (or active pursuit) are preferred qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• Four (4) or more years of related work experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) or actively pursuing licensure in Fire Protection.
• Knowledge of building and NFPA codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection concepts to support design projects, including sprinklers, detection, and egress strategies.
• Perform calculations using standard and manufacturer software.
• Prepare designs, drawings, specs, and reports with guidance from senior engineers.
• Coordinate with architecture and engineering teams in project delivery.
• Support construction with submittals, RFIs, and site inspections.
