Job summary

Stantec is seeking Fire Protection Engineers to join our North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will design fire protection systems, perform related calculations, and document design analyses for building projects in a collaborative, mentoring-driven environment.

You will work with CAD/BIM tools, verify code compliance, and assist during construction with submittals and inspections. Orlando, FL and other U.S. locations are supported by this team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline with relevant coursework.
• Four+ years of related work experience or equivalent.
• Registered P.E. with Fire Protection Engineering exam or pursuing licensure.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection concepts to design fire suppression, detection, alarm, and smoke control systems.
• Perform calculations using standard and manufacturer software.
• Gather information to support design decisions.
• Prepare designs, drawings, specs, and reports with guidance from senior engineers.
• Verify compliance with codes and standards.
• Collaborate with other design professionals on projects.
• Support construction with submittals, RFIs, and inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior staff.
