Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Fire Protection Design Manager to oversee the design/BIM aspects of our sprinkler projects at the Richmond, VA headquarters. The role emphasizes project management, NFPA code knowledge, and coordination with design staff and field teams.

Ideal candidates have 5-7 years in fire protection design, supervisory experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software, with relocation to the Richmond area likely required.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in fire protection design and supervision.
• Strong NFPA knowledge and ability to interpret drawings.
• Proficiency with Windows CAD tools (AutoCAD) and related software.
• Experience coordinating with field operations and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage project duties and delegate to team members.
• Review design drawings for NFPA code compliance.
• Review material submittals and hydraulic calculations.
• Coordinate material delivery and shop drawing process.
• Supervise designers and monitor design hours for profitability.
• Lead kickoff meetings and regular FP department meetings.
