Atlantic Constructors, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Design Manager to oversee design and BIM for new construction sprinkler projects in the Richmond, VA area.

This role manages design teams, ensures NFPA code compliance, and coordinates with field operations from project kickoff through delivery. Responsibilities include supervising designers, reviewing drawings and calculations, coordinating material logistics, and supporting the FP sales team with bid takes.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in fire protection designer or equivalent
• Prior supervisor/management experience
• Proficient in NFPA codes and local jurisdiction requirements
• Ability to interpret architect drawings and specifications
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Manage design and BIM for sprinkler projects and supervise designers
• Review design drawings for NFPA code compliance and project specs
• Review material submittals and hydraulic calculations for NFPA compliance
• Coordinate material deliveries with customer and field staff
• Lead kickoff meetings and FP department meetings
• Review and approve vendor invoices and shop drawings
• Coordinate permit processes with AHJ and A/E
• Support FP sales with bid take-offs as needed
