Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose and repair Fire & Life Safety systems at customer sites. You will interpret blueprints, perform installations, and ensure building systems run efficiently while delivering excellent service. The role requires climbing, lifting, weekend hours, and occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

• 2+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals
• Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, and commissioning devices
• Capable of carrying 50-70 lbs and climbing ladders/structures
• Able to work varying hours including weekends and travel overnight
• Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Willing to pass pre-employment background and drug tests
• Maintain required licenses per National/State/Local codes

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and diagnose equipment issues at customer sites
• Service, troubleshoot and install Fire & Life Safety systems from various manufacturers
• Read blueprints and specifications to guide repairs and replacements
• Provide high-level customer service and document service via mobile devices
• Participate in on-call rotations and mentor junior team members
• Provide quotes and recommendations to improve facility efficiency and upsell where appropriate
