Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Service Technician to diagnose and repair fire alarm and life safety systems at customer sites. You will interpret blueprints and manuals, coordinate with customers, and complete service documentation. The role includes on-call rotation and opportunities to mentor peers.

Candidates should have 3+ years in fire/life safety systems, strong IT aptitude, and a valid driver’s license; willingness to travel and work flexible hours is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems.
• Able to interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Good computer skills and ability to use documentation tools.
• Flexible to work weekends and travel as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and suitable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform service/repair on fire alarm and life safety systems at customer sites.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals and manuals to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Coordinate with customers, obtain signatures, and complete service acknowledgements.
• On-call rotation; train or mentor others on the service team.
• Provide solutions to improve facility efficiency and upsell where appropriate.
