Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced service technician to diagnose and repair fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints and schematics, follow manuals, and communicate clearly with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.

Role requires 3+ years in fire alarm/security systems, valid driver's license, and ability to work flexible hours with some travel. NICET II preferred; competitive benefits and on-call rotations offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems.
• Interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Computers capable for documentation and telemetry.
• Follow verbal and written instructions with accuracy.
• Flexible hours including weekends; overnight travel may be required.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• NICET II certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center with issue details.
• Contact customer representatives to ascertain problems.
• Diagnose and repair fire alarm and related building systems on-site.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures using manuals and bulletins.
• Service and troubleshoot various manufacturers’ Fire & Life Safety systems.
• Read blueprints, diagrams and specifications; interpret and apply them.
• Maintain high customer service standards and document work with proper codes.
• Participate in on-call rotations and mentor junior team members.
