Job summary

Siemens Smart Buildings in Shoreview, MN, offers a Fire Alarm Systems Technician Internship. This 10-week program runs May–August with a 40-hour workweek, on real job sites, learning installation, programming, and service of fire alarm and building automation systems.

You will be mentored by experienced technicians, gain exposure to sales, and rotate through project and service operations while documenting activities and collaborating with teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a 2-year technical program in Electro-Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Electrician Technician, Fire Protection Technology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Spend most time on job sites with experienced technicians installing, programming, and servicing fire alarm and HVAC automation systems in commercial buildings.
• Shadow sales team to understand customer engagement and building solutions.
• Rotate through service and project delivery teams to support installation to long-term maintenance.
• Assist in diagnosing issues, performing maintenance and repairs, or supporting new installations and system commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve discrepancies in drawings and address on-site challenges.
