Job summary

Siemens Smart Building Internship Program seeks a Fire Alarm Systems Technician Intern to train on-site at our St. Louis office. You will spend most of your time on job sites with experienced technicians, installing, programming, and servicing fire alarm and HVAC automation systems in commercial buildings.

Roles include troubleshooting, documentation, and customer interaction. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a related two-year technical program, with strong communication and hands-on skills,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in or recent completion of a 2-year technical college/tech program in Electro-Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Fire Protection Technology or related field.

Responsibilities

• Spend majority of time on job sites shadowing experienced technicians and learning installation, programming, and servicing of Fire and HVAC automation systems in commercial buildings.
• Assist in diagnosing issues, performing maintenance and repairs, or supporting new installations and system commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to resolve discrepancies in drawings and address on-site challenges.
• Document service activities and communicate system operations to customers, including basic training.
