Job summary

Siemens Smart Building Internship Program in the Atlanta area seeks a Fire Alarm Systems Technician Intern. You’ll work on job sites, learning to install, program, and service fire alarm and related control systems in commercial buildings, with hands-on training and on-the-job shadowing.

We require a high school diploma or GED, enrollment in a 2-year technical program, ability to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks (May–August), and authorization to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or state-recognized GED.
• Education: Students currently enrolled in or who have recently completed a 2-year Technical College/School pursuing a degree in Electro-Mechanical, Electrical Electronic Systems, Electrician Technician, Fire Protection Technology, Fire Tech or related program.
• Availability: Ability to work 40-hours per week for the 10-week program (May-August).
• Relocation: Must be willing and able to work onsite at the location and surrounding local area. There is no relocation or housing stipend for this program.
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company or school sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Spend most time on job sites with experienced Siemens technicians, learning how we install, program, and service HVAC and building automation systems.
• Rotate through our service and project delivery teams to understand how customer needs are supported from installation to long-term maintenance and upgrades.
• Interface directly with customers to document service activities and explain system operations to ensure smooth hand-off.
