Job summary

Siemens Smart Building Internship Program in San Antonio, TX invites you to join as a Fire Alarm Systems Technician Intern. You’ll gain hands-on experience on job sites with experienced technicians, learning installation, programming and service of HVAC automation and fire systems in commercial buildings.

This 10-week program runs May–Aug, requires 40 hours/week, and offers exposure to sales, project operations, and customer interactions, plus participation in 401K and potential future

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pursuing or recent completion of a 2-year technical program in Electro-Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Electrician Technician, Fire Protection Technology, Fire Tech or related field.
• Available to work 40 hours per week for the 10-week program (May–August).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Comfortable in rooftops, mechanical rooms and outdoor environments.
• Hands-on use of hand tools, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
• Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds safely.
• Strong communication and teamwork; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Spend most of your time on job sites with experienced technicians learning installation, programming and service of HVAC automation and fire systems.
• Gain exposure to sales by observing customer interactions and solution design.
• Rotate through service and project delivery teams to understand installation to maintenance workflows.
• Assist in diagnosing issues and supporting new installations and system commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve discrepancies in drawings.
• Document service activities and provide basic training to ensure smooth hand-off to customers.
