Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in fire safety and building systems, is seeking a skilled service technician to diagnose and repair fire alarm and related systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, interpret specifications, and communicate clearly with customers.

You’ll service devices from multiple manufacturers, participate in on-call rotations, and travel as needed to support client needs. Competitive pay, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for advancement

Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
Proficient computer skills and use of basic software.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Capable of physical work carrying 50–70 lbs and climbing.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and overnight travel.

Responsibilities

Receive service calls from the Resource Center with a brief description of issues.
Contact customer representatives to determine problems with equipment or systems.
Diagnose issues and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems at customer sites.
Follow troubleshooting procedures and consult manuals and bulletins to repair equipment.
Service, troubleshoot and install systems from various manufacturers, including SimplexGrinnell.
Read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications and interpret submittals and specs.
