Job summary
Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Fire & Life Safety service technician to diagnose, repair, and install various fire alarm and access control systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot electronics, and coordinate with customers to ensure optimal performance.
The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and strong communication while supporting on-call rotations and occasional travel to client sites.
Qualifications
- 5+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
- NICET II certification - Preferred
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
- Knowledge of test equipment such as multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
Responsibilities
- Receive service calls and assess equipment problems.
- Diagnose issues and perform service/repair on fire alarm systems and related building systems.
- Read blueprints, diagrams, and manuals to guide repairs and programming of panels.
- Organize documentation, provide customer updates, and obtain signatures on service calls.
- Possess strong customer service and communication skills; participate in on-call rotation.
