Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking skilled technicians to diagnose and repair electronic fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, follow troubleshooting procedures, and ensure high levels of customer service.

With 5–10 years in low voltage systems and NICET III preferred, you will handle panel programming, device replacement, and system testing, while often working on-call and training others.

Qualifications

• 5 - 10 years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
• NICET III Level III certification – Strongly Preferred
• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center and diagnose equipment/system problems.
• Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and related building systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and manuals; follow troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction; complete service acknowledgements with proper coding.
• Participate in on-call rotation and training/mentoring of team members.
• Provide solutions to improve facility efficiency and upsell where appropriate.
