Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Service Technician to diagnose, repair and install Fire & Life Safety systems and other building technologies at customer sites across Illinois. You will read blueprints, interpret diagrams, and follow manuals to ensure safety and reliability while delivering excellent customer service.

Requirements include 5–10 years in low voltage electrical systems (Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, Nurse Call, Paging), High School diploma, and NICET III certification

Qualifications

• 5–10 years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
• NICET III Level III certification – Strongly Preferred
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and other building system products at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and manuals.
• Exhibit excellent customer service by communicating with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding via smartphones and laptops.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide training to junior technicians.
• Provide quotes and solutions to improve facility efficiency.
