Job summary

Johnson Controls in Canton, MA is seeking an experienced Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. You will receive service calls, assess issues, and perform fixes with a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

Candidates should have 5+ years in low voltage electrical systems, MASS Class D, NICET II preferred, and ability to read blueprints and manuals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
• MASS Class D
• NICET II certification – Strongly Preferred
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of physical labor and lifting up to 50-70 lbs; climbs and works in difficult spaces.
• Flexible hours including weekends; possible overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center and ascertain issues.
• Diagnose problems and perform service/repairs on Fire/Life Safety and related systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, submittals, specs, and manuals for troubleshooting.
• Organize resources and utilize technical information to execute tasks efficiently.
• Perform programming of fire alarm, security, and access control panels.
• On-call rotation and after-hours work as required.
• Provide quotes and recommendations to improve facility operation and efficiency.
• Maintain truck inventory and document task-related activities.
