Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building technologies, seeks a Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm systems at customer sites. The role focuses on networked fire alarm panels with opportunities to read blueprints, interpret specs, and ensure systems meet contract requirements.

The position requires five years in low voltage electrical systems, a Fire Alarm License, and the ability to travel and work flexibly, including weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Fire/Life Safety systems experience.
• Fire Alarm License.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Experience with testing equipment, meters, and commissioning devices.
• Able to lift 50–70 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willing to travel overnight as needed.
• Flexibility to work weekends and variable hours.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service fire alarm systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specs and manuals.
• Supervise and inspect installation to meet specs.
• Complete required documentation timely.
• Provide customer service and resolve issues efficiently.
