Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Canton, MA is seeking a skilled Service Technician to diagnose, repair and install Fire & Life Safety systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, follow manuals, and program system panels while delivering outstanding service and support.

Eligible candidates have 5+ years in low voltage systems, MASS Class D, NICET II preferred, and ability to lift up to 70 lbs. On-call rotation and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging.
• MASS Class D credential or license.
• NICET II certification – Strongly Preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and operational manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50-70 lbs.
• Willingness to work unusual positions and travel overnight.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center and ascertain equipment issues.
• Diagnose problems and perform service/repairs on Fire & Life Safety systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, submittals, specifications, and manuals.
• Exhibit strong customer service and obtain customer signatures on completions.
• Program fire alarm, security, and access control system panels.
• On-call rotation and occasional after-hours work.
