Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Fire Installer I to install, program, and service fire alarm systems at customer sites. The role emphasizes networked fire alarm systems while supporting panel repair, device replacement, and low-voltage testing.

The ideal candidate will have a background in low-voltage electrical systems, blueprints reading, and hands-on experience with testing equipment. Overnight travel may be required; a valid driver’s license is preferred for on-site support.

Qualifications

• 1 years of documented experience in low-voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety Systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service fire alarm systems and related building system products.
• Handle panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, low-voltage circuit troubleshooting, and system testing.
• Support the programming of fire alarm, security, and access control system panels, with primary focus on networked fire alarm systems.
• Respond to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner and complete troubleshooting and repair work as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, software/system programs, and operational/product manuals.
• Supervise and inspect equipment installation to help ensure customer and contract specifications are met.
• Organize technical resources, information, materials, and support to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Complete required certification courses and submit task, activity, productivity, and other documentation on time.
