Job summary

Johnson Controls in the United States is seeking a skilled technician to install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service Fire Alarm Systems and related building systems at customer sites. You will focus on networked fire alarm panels, reader programs, and panel repairs while coordinating with field teams.

The role requires reading blueprints and operating manuals, plus lifting equipment and traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Experience with test equipment, multimeter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• Ability to lift 50–70 lbs and work in ladders, ducts, and tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service Fire Alarm Systems at customer sites.
• Organize and utilize resources to ensure efficient task execution.
• Program networked fire alarm, security, and access control panels.
• Respond to service calls, troubleshoot, and repair as needed.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, and manuals.
• Supervise installation to meet specifications.
• Complete certification courses and required documentation.
