Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks a Fire Alarm Service Technician to diagnose, service, and repair electronic fire alarm systems at customer sites across the Indianapolis area.

You will collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve issues quickly and keep critical facilities operating safely. Role requires 2+ years in low voltage electrical systems, proficiency with blueprints, and ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• Experience with Fire/Life Safety systems required.
• Able to read blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Licenses and safety certifications as required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50–70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and verify issue details.
• Contact customers to confirm issue and gather data for troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and repair electronic fire alarm systems at customer sites.
• Follow manuals and notices to repair equipment.
• Service and install Fire & Life Safety systems from multiple manufacturers.
• Read diagrams and specifications relevant to systems.
• Communicate clearly with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements and collect signatures.
• Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support.
• Mentor other technicians when needed.
• Provide recommendations to improve facility efficiency and address concerns.
• Support quotes aligned with findings.
