Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing an accounting function.
• Experience in SaaS, fintech, financial services, payments, or a high-growth technology company.
• Strong GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with ASC 606 / SaaS revenue recognition.
• Experience managing audits and working with external accounting partners.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and experience with modern ERP/accounting systems.
• Experience implementing or improving accounting systems and processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day accounting function, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, cash management, and financial reporting.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee revenue recognition, including ASC 606, deferred revenue, and subscription-based revenue streams.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Partner with FP&A to improve forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial visibility.
• Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, and working capital.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and other financial service providers.
• Support tax compliance, including coordination of federal, state, and local requirements.
• Evaluate and improve accounting systems, processes, and automation as the company scales.
• Help ensure compliance with applicable financial services and regulatory requirements.
• Support financial and operational due diligence related to strategic initiatives, partnerships, fundraising, or M&A.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while establishing clear processes and accountability.
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Product, Legal, Compliance, and Technology teams.
