Job summary

fomo is seeking a hands-on Controller to build its accounting function from the ground up. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will own end-to-end accounting operations, establish scalable processes, and partner with leadership on strategic decisions.

You will lead the general ledger, close cycles, and controls, while integrating crypto-related accounting and ERP systems to support rapid growth in a fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting leadership experience
• CPA required or international equivalent
• Experience with crypto/digital-asset subledgers preferred
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise
• Startup/fintech or data‑intensive environment background desired

Responsibilities

• Lead the building of the accounting function from ground up
• Own month-end, close and reporting to management
• Oversee GL, AP/AR, cash, payroll, fixed assets and vendor processes
• Develop accounting treatment for digital-asset activity and on-chain transactions
• Lead selection and rollout of ERP, crypto subledger and related tools
• Maintain financial controls and documentation for a high-growth fintech
• Coordinate audits, tax compliance, and external advisor interactions
• Collaborate with Legal, Operations, Product and Eng to support new initiatives
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash planning and investor reporting
