Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Controller for a rapidly growing SaaS fintech company in Austin, TX. This role leads the accounting function, strengthens financial controls, and ensures accurate, timely reporting while partnering with the CFO and executives.

The ideal candidate has SaaS/fintech experience, deep GAAP knowledge, and a proven ability to scale processes and systems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting with management experience.
• Experience in SaaS, fintech, or high-growth tech companies.
• GAAP knowledge and month-end close expertise.
• Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Experience with audits and external accounting partners.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and ERP experience.
• Experience implementing or improving accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting including GL, AP, AR, payroll, cash management, and financial reporting.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes with timeliness.
• Prepare and review GAAP-based financial statements and management reports.
• Oversee revenue recognition, ASC 606 and subscription revenue.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and policies.
• Partner with FP&A to improve forecasting and budgeting.
• Oversee cash management, reconciliations, working capital.
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and service providers.
• Support tax compliance across federal, state, and local levels.
• Evaluate and upgrade accounting systems and automation.
• Ensure compliance with financial services and regulatory requirements.
• Support due diligence for strategic initiatives, partnerships, fundraising, or M&A.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team; establish processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Product, Legal, Compliance, and Tech teams.
