Job summary

Talently in Seattle, WA seeks an experienced Controller to own the full accounting function, drive process improvements, and build an FP&A capability. The role reports to the CFO and offers pathway to a strategic seat as the company scales.

The ideal candidate is a CPA with 8+ years in accounting, strong ASC 606 expertise, and a fintech/SaaS background. You will lead an expanding team, manage ERP-related initiatives, and partner with cross-functional teams on financial strategy.

Qualifications

CPA required with 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Deep hands-on ASC 606 revenue recognition in subscription/recurring revenue.
Background in fintech with understanding of accounting complexity at scale.

Responsibilities

Own the month-end close process with a clean, consistent cadence.
Drive revenue recognition accuracy across subscription and recurring revenue streams in ASC 606 compliance.
Partner with customer-facing teams on billing workflows, revenue tracking, and data accuracy.
Build and develop the accounting team, promoting leaders as the function scales.
Review and improve current accounting systems with ERP implementation on the horizon.
Manage banking relationships and support treasury operations.
Lead tax strategy review with external advisors.
Identify process improvements and drive automation across accounting workflows.
Lay groundwork for a future FP&A function with clean data infrastructure.
