Overview & Responsibilities:

The Financial Analyst will be an important member of the CBS Network Segment Mgmt / Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This position offers a great opportunity to learn about and support the overall FP&A process by assisting with the preparation and consolidation of forecasts, budgets, and long range plans. The Financial Analyst will provide analysis for internal review and decision-making, while continuously looking to improve efficiency in process and reporting. The right candidate is well organized, proactive and passionate about the media industry.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare budgets and monthly forecasts for SG&A departments, including Communications, Research, Captioning, and Program Practices.
  • Assist in the administration of TM1 database, including adding new users, creating/updating reports, and preparing the system for forecasts and budgets.
  • Use TM1 and Oracle Financial Systems to monitor monthly financial results for SG&A costs compared to budget and determine if month-end accruals are required and prepare variance reports.
  • Interact with senior management from the SG&A departments and suggest operational and financial improvements.
  • Assist in the overall consolidation of the CBS Television Network monthly financials using TM1 and Excel for both P&L and Cash Flow.
  • Prepare weekly Treasury analysis for CBS Television Network.
  • Assist in the reporting of Retransmission and Affiliate Revenue using TM1.
  • Monitor monthly capital expenditure spending at the CBS Television Network, including spending for Sports, News, and Operations.
  • Work on special projects as requested.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting, Finance, or equivalent).
  • 2-3 years+ relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High competency level in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team to meet goals and objectives.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize and work within a deadline driven environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 72,500.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
