We are seeking a meticulous, self-driven, and tech-savvy Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment. If you’re passionate about financial accuracy, optimizing reporting processes, and contributing to the fiscal health of a dynamic SaaS company, this role is for you.

As an Accountant at Popl, you’ll be instrumental in managing our day-to-day financial operations—from accounts receivable to month-end close and reporting. You’ll work cross-functionally with our Sales, Customer Success and Operations teams to ensure data integrity, compliance, and efficiency. This position reports directly to our VP of Operations and offers an exciting opportunity to help scale the #1 in-person lead capture platform.

This is a full-time remote role.

What You’ll Do:

Core Accounting Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and perform account reconciliations.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes—ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Analyze financial data and create reports for internal teams and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies in all accounting practices.
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits and tax filings.
• Assist in the implementation and optimization of accounting systems and financial tools.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as needed.
• Reconcile bank statements and process inter-company transactions.
• Manage the AR and AP process to maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies.
• Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives by providing accurate historical data and insights.
• Assist in tracking key financial metrics and preparing reports for leadership and investors.
• Help evaluate internal controls and propose improvements for financial processes.

What We’re Looking For:

• A detail-oriented and reliable financial professional with strong analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience in a SaaS, startup, or technology environment preferred.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Excel/Google Sheets.
• Experience with Stripe, SaaS metrics, and subscription billing models is a strong plus.
• CPA or working towards certification is preferred but not required.
• Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Comfortable in a remote, fast-paced, and collaborative work environment.
