Job summary

Themis is seeking a Finance & Operations Manager to serve as the operational backbone of the business. You will manage day-to-day financial operations, prepare executive materials, and drive AI-enabled improvements across departments.

You will work directly with the CEO, gaining visibility across the organization while building scalable systems and processes to support growth and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in finance, operations, or a related business function, ideally at a startup or high-growth company.
• Strong financial acumen — comfortable with P&L, cash flow, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing executive-level materials such as board decks, investor updates, or financial summaries.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines.
• High proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) and financial modeling.
• Strong written communication skills — able to translate complex information into clear, compelling materials.
• Self-starter with strong organizational instincts and exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Track budgets and key financial metrics; surface insights and flag issues proactively.
• Own core financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and address reconciliation issues with the Accounting and Invoicing vendors.
• Prepare materials and manage the submission process for investment requests on behalf of the CEO.
• Draft, compile, and maintain Investor updates.
• Support the CEO in ad hoc financial and operational analyses for external meetings, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
• Own follow-through on action items and deliverables stemming from Board/Investor interactions.
• Send out product marketing emails to all customers.
• Identify and lead high-leverage opportunities to automate or streamline internal workflows using AI across functions like finance, operations, HR, Customer Success.
• Build, document, and roll out AI-powered processes that reduce manual effort and improve consistency across the company.
• Serve as an internal champion for AI literacy.
• Support production of the company newsletter, including content coordination, drafting, scheduling, and distribution.
• Maintain internal documentation, SOPs, and process guides for finance and operations workflows.
• Assist with cross-functional communications requiring financial or operational context.
• Identify and eliminate operational inefficiencies across the company.
• Build scalable systems and processes that grow with the business.
• Own special projects and cross-functional initiatives as the company evolves.
