Job summary

Kiewit invites applications for a Finance Analyst Internship to support project accounting and finance functions. This role operates like a small business within each project, focusing on cost control, payroll, A/P/A/R, and compliance, with exposure to labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts.

The internship will involve being part of the month-end close process and assisting in preparing a financial reporting package for project management.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, and/or equivalent degree
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
• Ability to relocate anywhere in the country for this internship
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Experience with Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups, and other key Excel functions is preferred
• Effective communication (oral and written), organization and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports project accounting and finance tasks during close process
• Assists in preparing a financial reporting package for project management
• Learns cost components for labor, equipment, materials and subcontracts
• Maintains internal controls around purchasing, invoicing and cost reporting
• Escalates issues to ensure accurate cost and revenue recognition
• Contributes to timely and accurate billing and cash management
