Job summary

The Finance Analyst Intern role at Kiewit Power Market supports accounting and finance functions on a project-level basis. You’ll help with cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, human capital management, and compliance, treating each project like a small business.

Based in the United States, you may relocate as needed to project sites; the position involves assisting with month-end close and preparing financial reporting packages for project management.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, and/or equivalent degree
• Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship to begin or continue employment
• Ability to relocate anywhere in the country
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Travel and/or relocation may be required (up to 50%)
• Experience with Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups, and other key Excel functions
• Effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Recognizes the importance of being a team player and helps in other areas as needed
• Fosters relationships with the Operations team and shows a willingness to learn
• Understands payroll and HR process workflow and systems used for hiring, transfers, terminations, and payment
• Maintains purchasing workflow internal controls
• Understands accounts payable workflow and resolves payment or vendor issues
• Understands intercompany and client billing workflows and timeliness impact on cash
• Ensures costs and adjustments are reviewed for accuracy per standards
• Reviews costs, budget structure and reports; makes corrections for accurate reporting
• Identifies forecast and budget issues and works with cost reports
• Displays strong customer service and team-support mindset
• Maintains organized work environment and effective time management
• Follows Corporate Compliance and labor law requirements
