Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Finance Analyst Intern to support accounting and finance functions on a project. The role focuses on cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, human capital management, and compliance, operating like a small business on each project.

The Finance Analyst Intern will help with month-end close and preparing a financial reporting package for project management, contributing to accurate forecasting and reporting. Travel and relocation may be required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, and/or equivalent degree
• Must be legally authorized to work without requiring sponsorship for employment to begin or continue employment
• Ability to relocate anywhere in the country
• Travel and/or relocation may be required for this position (up to 50%)
• Effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of Pivot Tables and V-Look Ups in Excel and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Recognizes the importance of being a team player by adapting to project needs and helping in other areas as needed
• Fosters relationships with the Operations team and shows a willingness to learn about the work
• Understands payroll and HR process workflow and masters systems used to hire, transfer, terminate, and pay employees
• Understands purchasing workflow, invoices, and internal controls
• Demonstrates understanding of accounts payable workflow and troubleshoot payment or vendor issues
• Understands intercompany and client billing workflow and timeliness for cash management
• Ensures cost and cost adjustments are reviewed for accuracy to meet standards
• Reviews costs, budget structure and exception reports for accurate reporting
• Identifies, adjusts, and reviews forecast and budget issues with cost reports
• Maintains customer service and teamwork mindset
• Maintains organized work environment and clear communication
• Follows Corporate Compliance Program and supports EEO and labor laws at project level
