Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Finance Analyst Intern to support accounting and finance functions on a project. The role focuses on cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and compliance within a project-finance setup.

Each project operates like a small business with close involvement in month-end close, financial reporting, and cost/revenue components across labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management or equivalent.
• Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship to begin or continue employment.
• Ability to relocate anywhere in the country; travel up to 50% may be required.
• Experience with Pivot Tables and V-Lookups; strong Excel skills preferred.
• Effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes the importance of teamwork and adapts to project needs.
• Fosters relationships with the Operations team and demonstrates willingness to learn.
• Understands payroll, HR, and onboarding workflows; supports proper hiring and payment processes.
• Manages purchasing workflow controls; assists accounts payable/receivable workflows.
• Troubleshoots payment or vendor issues in the accounts payable process.
• Supports intercompany and client billing workflows; emphasizes timely billing documentation.
• Reviews costs and budget reporting to ensure accurate management reporting.
• Identifies forecast and budget issues; aligns with cost reporting for proper recognition.
• Delivers quality customer service; maintains a positive, helpful attitude.
• Keeps a highly organized work environment and communicates clearly.
• Follows Corporate Compliance and supports EEO and labor law adherence.
