Finance: Analyst, Billing Compliance – Remote or Hybrid (Must be Local to NYC or Boston)

Location: New York City, New York

Employment Type: Full Time

Our client is seeking an Analyst, Billing Compliance to support firmwide billing accuracy, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring client billing requirements are met while maintaining strong internal controls and cross‑functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all firmwide bills are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with client billing guidelines and internal firm procedures
  • Review and audit all new and existing matters to confirm compliance with firm requirements using appropriate billing system matter codes
  • Coordinate with Conflicts, Terms, Pricing, eBilling, Timekeeping, and Collections teams to ensure matters are opened and maintained in compliance with client and firm standards
  • Support process improvements within Intapp Open and Intapp Time
  • Lead and support projects focused on matter maintenance, billing compliance, and OCG compliance audits
  • Communicate securely with billing attorneys and client service staff regarding adherence to client billing requirements
  • Respond to billing‑related inquiries from attorneys, clients, and internal teams; prepare and deliver billing reports as requested
  • Partner with Financial Services to support billing system updates and upgrade initiatives
  • Handle additional billing compliance and finance‑related projects as assigned
  • Advanced proficiency with legal accounting and billing systems, including Elite
  • Advanced proficiency with document management systems (e.g., WorkSite, FileSite, DeskSite, Equitrac)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced proficiency with financial forecasting tools (e.g., targetCash)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly within a legal environment
