Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Tractor Technician in South Gate, CA to perform basic maintenance, service, and repairs on tractors and equipment under supervision.

The role involves outdoor work, potential nights and weekends, and full-time attendance. Starts range from $28.92 to $38.52 per hour, with relocation help possible for candidates outside a 50-mile radius. Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair or equivalent training/experience.
• Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights/weekends.
• DOT/FHWA inspections and air brakes knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate foundational technical knowledge of preventive maintenance, replacement of parts and basic repairs for tractor maintenance (fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brakes).
• Work independently and seek assistance as needed.
• Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
• Accurately perform repairs to company specifications and complete work orders with standard repair times.
• Adhere to warranty guidelines and company requirements.
