Job summary

J.B. Hunt is seeking a Tractor Technician in Fontana, CA to perform basic maintenance and repairs on tractors and equipment under supervision. The role may involve outdoor work, varied shifts, and overtime with opportunities for growth through the Technician Career Advancement program.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with 1 year of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair and/or training and/or military equivalent experience; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
• Ability to multitask, read English, and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic active listening, organization, time management and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate foundational technical knowledge of preventative maintenance and basic repairs on tractors.
• Work independently and seek help as needed.
• Follow shop safety procedures at all times.
• Complete work orders and adhere to standard repair times and warranties.
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
