Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Tractor Technician in California to perform basic maintenance, service and repair of tractors and related equipment.

The role involves outdoor work, shift flexibility, and potential overtime, with a focus on meeting J.B. Hunt specifications and completing work orders. Starting pay ranges from $26.40 to $35.18 per hour, with opportunities for overtime and seasonal bonuses.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with 1 year of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and/or training or equivalent experience
• Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights/weekends
• DOT inspections/FHWA inspections experience preferred
• Ability to read documents in English
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on tractors per company and manufacturer specs
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers
• Complete work orders and adhere to standard repair times and warranty guidelines
• Demonstrate foundational technical knowledge across fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive train, air brakes, and on-board computer
• Work independently and seek assistance as needed
