Job summary

At CompucomStaffing, a Field Technician is needed to support Anderson, IN client operations, ensuring reliable POS systems, hardware, networking, and printers. The role requires strong customer service, problem solving under pressure, and excellent product knowledge.

Duties include installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, plus training staff and documenting work. On-call rotation and travel between client sites are expected.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing POS or computer hardware.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and restaurant technology.
• Ability to perform light physical/contractor tasks.
• Willingness to work evenings and participate in on-call rotation.
• Reliable transportation for travel between customer locations.
• Completion of account training and network cable termination training.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service while supporting clients and staff.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair POS systems, hardware, peripherals, and printers.
• Repair OEM printers using warranty and non-warranty approaches.
• Resolve technical issues and clearly communicate solutions to customers.
• Document work, maintain configurations, and upgrade systems.
• Perform light contractor tasks (drilling, mounting, cabling) as needed.
• Train employees on supported systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair product failures; order parts as needed.
• Recommend products, services, or solutions based on customer needs.
• Apply knowledge of operations to ensure seamless technology integration.
• Follow procedures with minimal supervision; report to Team Lead/Field Services Manager.
