Job summary

Electric Power Systems Technology (EPST) seeks a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation electrical equipment with increased independence. You will troubleshoot issues, follow safety procedures, and support complex field activities to ensure equipment readiness.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in the industry, a relevant degree or military experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic technology, or Military experience preferred.
• NETA II Certification is preferred.
• Willingness to travel for field assignments and overtime as required.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and use PPE in substation environments.
• Perform testing of high, medium, and low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect, test, and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding systems, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot using schematics and manuals; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Document testing and maintenance activities per project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities safely.
