Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection and maintenance of substation equipment with increased independence. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and hands-on troubleshooting under limited supervision.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in the industry; NETA II certification preferred. Travel and overtime may be required, and a valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Willingness to overtime and travel for periods of time.
• Must have a valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and PPE requirements in substation environments.
• Assist in testing of high, medium and low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, battery systems and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot using schematics, wiring diagrams and manuals; escalate complex issues.
• Document testing, maintenance and repairs according to project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities safely.
